The Reset Host Join Method extension allows hosts to reset or choose the join method used when connecting to sessions easily. By selecting one of the two entries added to the Help menu on the host page, the host can Reset, or clear, the method for joining to set the browser to use it's default. This can be helpful if the default for the browser has changed over time, such as with Firefox, and you would like to get to the current default method. It is also helpful in forcing a download of the WindowsSelector on-demand without needing to uninstall the application first.

The second option allows hosts to choose their join method. When selected, the next time the host joins a session they will be prompted with a list of join methods supported by their OS and browser, in the recommended order of use. This can be helpful for forcing a browser to use a specific join method, such as making IE use WindowsSelector like Chrome or Firefox, or to intentionally select the Java Client on systems that might not have .NET installed, the host is using a computer that doesn't allow ClickOnce application and does not have local admin rights to install applications.

Additionally, the extesion has one setting that allows setting a quick action for users who may want to quickly change back and forth. By changing the "ActionOnRightClickingJoin" key to "Reset" or "Choose", the host will be able to right click the word "Join" as it appears anywhere on the host page to quickly set it to the selected method. Then left clicking Join will follow suit by presenting the user with the default join method, or selection screen as setup.

The Extension's Options also include a Help link that will open the Joining a Session as Host help article.
