I have setup a fresh install of openSUSE 13.2 for testing with the ScreenConnect client. When I remote in to the test machine all that is displayed is a blank screen. I can pass commands through the Host tab on the support webpage, but that is it. I have reinstalled the OS and tried from scratch using different variables, such as with IcedTea-Web plugin, No IcedTea-Web using JRE 1.8.0_91 as the default, and I have also tried connecting to it from inside my network and outside my network with the same result. Any help would be appreciated.

What version of ScreenConnect are you using?

Also, what desktop environment is in use on the openSUSE box?

ScreenConnect Version: 5.5.10194.5861
Desktop Environment: KDE

I will like to add the display works in the temporary Support sessions created, but not the unattended client. So when I go to the session created under "Support" it works, but when I go the group under "Access," the client displays a blank screen. Please let me know if you need anything else.

I can confirm this on OpenSuse 42.1 also. The strange thing is I have a server 1100 miles away running OPenSuse 42.1 and it is working. The one I sit next to in my office gives this blank black screen no matter where I try to access it from. All my server setups run XFCE desktops.

This box also works when it is a requested session, only blank in UA session.

I also had these issues with openSUSE Leap 42.1. That is why I moved to openSUSE 13.2 but still same results.

We've implemented a fix for this in 5.6, basically the Access client was running but not pulling display information correctly. 5.6 is still a pre-release, but it should be stable in the near future.

So will this pre-release work with the current setup without having to upgrade the server side? Reason being is that the team responsible for the ScreenConnect server stated they will not upgrade anything on their end until 5.6 becomes an official stable release. If it will not work, is there any expected or estimated date of becoming an official release?

Unfortunately no, the server would have to be updated to the pre-release version. It's tough to say when it'll go stable, but I imagine it'll be relatively soon.
