2 part question:

When clients create their own sessions, I want to group them into a specific group like _SELF. How can I accomplish this?

For this group of auto created sessions, I assume I can set normal security and access for our support teams correct?

You could use a filter like this to sort guest initiated sessions:

Quote:
HOST = ''

Note: That those are two apostrophes in the filter not a single quotation mark.

Sessions started with the guest session starter extension are not created by a host, so this filter looks for session that have no host as the owner of the session.

This is the same filter listed for "Requested Sessions" by default. You can access the manage session groups options to change the name: Managing Session Groups

You'll be able to define permissions based on your roles from there: Role Based Security

That doesn't seem to work. But i could be doing it wrong.

Under menage session groups > support> i created;

name: _SELF
session filter: HOSTNAME = ''

In security i created;

Role name: Auto Sessions
Permissions:
ViewSessionGroup: '_SELF'
JoinSession: '_SELF', OwnedAndUnowned
TransferSession: '_SELF', OwnedAndUnowned
EditSession: '_SELF', OwnedAndUnowned

I added the group to the auto session group to the roles of the techs who should manage them.

My T1 techs can see the self group, but none of the auto sessions are in that group.

All of the auto session names are whatever the customer puts in, Tom, Harry, Moe, Curly, etc.

I tried to rename one of the auto sessions _SELF and it doesn't go into the _SELF group.

Someone here pointed out a typo on my part. You should use HOST not HOSTNAME.
