This extension allows a Guest to initiate a chat from the Guest page with your technicians via the tawk.to management portal. Thanks to a user on our forum, we were introduced to tawk.to as an alternative to the already present Zopim Chat Integration. The benefit of tawk.to is that it has a free tier which is extremely feature-rich. Just like Zopim, tawk.to allows you to embed a chat window into the Guest page: REQUIREMENTSIn order to use this Extension, you must set the Extension Setting's tawkEmbedUrl. Instructions for doing this are below: To get the tawkEmbedUrl setting required for the extension, you must first create a Site for your ScreenConnect within tawk.to: Create a Site in tawk.to. The widget code is shown in step 6, copy it to notepad (or something similar). It should look similar to: Code:
<!--Start of Tawk.to Script-->
<script type="text/javascript">
var Tawk_API=Tawk_API||{}, Tawk_LoadStart=new Date();
(function(){
var s1=document.createElement("script"),s0=document.getElementsByTagName("script")[0];
s1.async=true;
s1.src='https://embed.tawk.to/568gkd8a1c9dbkh8110a47de/default';
s1.charset='UTF-8';
s1.setAttribute('crossorigin','*');
s0.parentNode.insertBefore(s1,s0);
})();
</script>
<!--End of Tawk.to Script-->
Look at roughly line 7 and copy only the URL (no quotes): Code:https://embed.tawk.to/568gkd8a1c9dbkh8110a47de/default
And paste it into the tawkEmbedUrl setting, accessible from the Extension's Options > Edit Settings menu on the Extension tab: |

You're welcome :) By the way I spent considerable time with a rep discussing their terms of service and privacy policy. I wanted to make sure that my client discussions were private and owned by me, and not mined by tawk.to, which they are not. What they do record is system specs (Win, mac, mobile, which browser, etc), but none of the content of anything sent through the chat itself. He said they currently have no plans to charge for the service, that being said that doesn't discount the possibility that they might introduce paid tiers in the future. By the end of our discussion I was satisfied enough to sign on and use it, and so far I'm very happy. Edited by user Thursday, February 4, 2016 8:09:48 PM(UTC)

Doesn't work for me, the steps are pretty simple but the widget won't appear on my guest page. Any other steps to perform?

As I recall it was pretty simple setup and didn't take too much time. Make sure you're using your own unique talk.to code, not the one in the example. And when you're finished, restart your screenconnect web server.

It works now! I was using the direct chat link instead of the one in the widget code. THanks!
