The Screen Connect session does not release until the "OK" button is click on the dialog box "you have been disconnected from teh session" that pops up on the remote machine that you are trying to disconnect. Unfortunately it now renders that feature useless. It is easily reproduced by connecting to the same host twice from your current workstation. Disconnect one of the sessions from the participants icon, then exit the current session. You will see the session is still active until you click on the ok button in the dialog box.

I just replicated this internally and I'm going to register it as a defect. I don't have an ETA on when the development team will be able to implement a fix, but we are definitely investigating.
