Is there a way to prevent the very large "DIAGNOSTIC-RESPONSE" text from showing up in the "Commands" window after refreshing services and processes?

This is most likely a result of the Remote System Diagnostics extension. Disable it and you won't get flooded with messages when switching panes.

When I disable the Remote System Diagnostics extension, though, I lose the ability to see services, processes, etc.

yep. it operates using the same command feature that is exposed to you so it's either tolerate the annoying size of the results or disable it.

you could clone and rewrite the extension to use a back-channel to transfer the data to the server instead of the commands feature (I've done this for some of my own stuff), but it will need to go through the extension approval process in order to be able to be used with CC 6.5+.
