We have recently found several of our SL7.5 computers are unable to launch the control GUI to remote control another computer. It seems to be something with a failure in Icedtea-web and so far all we've found is:
Headless check failed. You are forced to run without any graphics. IcedTea-Web can run like this, but your app probably not. This is likely bug in your system.
The application's digital signature has been verified. Do you want to run the application? It will be granted unrestricted access to your computer.

The digital signature has been validated by a trusted source.

Type `exit` to terminate ITW, or type one of the below values. Prefix answer by "R " to remember decision and by "RC " to do so for whole codebase.
netx: Initialization Error: Could not initialize application. (Fatal: Launch Error: Cancelled on user request. )
net.sourceforge.jnlp.LaunchException: Fatal: Initialization Error: Could not initialize application. The application has not been initialized, for more information execute javaws from the command line.

Any ideas as to what's going on?

There could be any number of things happening but to help track down the problem can you please tell me the following:

-What version of ConnectWise Control are you running?
-What version of Java is installed on these machines?
-What version of the IcedTea plugin is installed?
-Can these SL7.5 machines be remotely controlled via Control as a Guest?

I am having a similar problem on UBUNTU 14.04 LTS 64-bit connecting to endpoints. Oddly enough, I have no problems connecting using a 32-bit LINUX box (ATOM) running UBUNTU 16.04. The latter uses 1.7 JRE, so I don't believe it has anything to do with the JRE.

I have tried connecting on both FIREFOX (icedTea 1.5) and CHROME. I've searched forums looking for solutions without success going back and forth with java versions. I have settled on JRE 1.8 (Oracle) running on the failing machine and attempted to connect to both 5.x and 6.x clients. The error dialog reports:

Unable to launch application

Name: ScreenConnect Client
Publisher: ScreenConnect Software
Location: http://<ourUrl:80>

Under Details, it reports:

Error: Unable to load resource: (http://<ourURL>/Bin/ScreenConnect.Client.jar?version-id=5.x/6.x

Going to later versions of java does not seem to help, in fact, iceTea support is dropped in later versions. Thoughts please.
