Hi all,

We would like to roll out to all our clients stored credentials

As you know it’s saved in c:\programdata\screenconnect xxx\user.config
I have tried to save credentials on PC A by going to “Prompt for Storage”
I copied that file to PC B on same place

Restarted Screenconnect service and tried to Send to Screen. but it’s not coming up.

How can I copy the file / make it Screenconnect use it?

We have a different agent software to roll out this files so that’s covered.

Regards, Marco

For security purposes, we encode and encrypt the credentials which we store in user.config file. So copy-pasting that file on other machines won't work as this feature is unique per session. However, you can put in a feature request on our Feature Request Portal and we will have a look at it.
Thanks.

Hi,

So it means the encryption is based on the session? So there is a different result when you have 2 machine's with same credentials? Am I correct?

Yes. Even if the two machines have the same credentials. The encrypted text could be different.

Thank you for your reply. Is there any logic / algorithm we can use to create those files?
So we can roll them out to the specific pc's

Unfortunately, as the algorithm is implemented on the backend, there is no way for you to do that.
