We're thinking about using ScreenConnect \ Control and have a few different use cases we were hoping to fulfill. Would we be able to set up these various groups for these various needs?

1. Outside Vendors
a) Would need to create Groups for various vendors and give them access to specific servers. Each vendor might have 2 to 5 users.
b) Server Side recording needs to be enabled automatically for both groups and they shouldn't be able to disable it.
c) They'll need to be able to log into the servers unattended. We'll need an alert when ever they do or when they log out so we can review the recording if needed.

2. Internal IT Support Staff
a) These users will be supporting internal users.
b) Support staff can provide users with the url and code to initiate remote sessions.
c) Internal users should have a way to initiate a support session on their own and have internal IT staff alerted when someone is waiting in the queue.

3. Internal IT Server Staff
a) Should be able to remote into their own computers and certain servers they have access too.
b) They should also be able to do everything the regular IT support staff can do.

4. Customer Support Staff
a) This group needs to provide support to external customers.
b) Occasionally they may need to log into their own computer or a computer on the shop floor that they have access to.
c) It would be good if they could use their AD credentials plus 2 factor auth

I answered each and pointed to docs, when applicable. I hope this info is helpful. Feel free to reach out with any additional questions.

  • I would recommend setting up a trigger to send an email when a host connects to target session group machines.

  • This looks like a standard support session:
