I have CustomProperty2 set to "Type". I then have a subgroup with type "Server". I have given permissions to a couple people that have access to all servers in the entire company. Great. However, I hvae one person I would like to only give access to servers in a specific organization. I can't find a way to do this. I have subgroups set up so that they display like I want (Servers > Organization) but I just don't see a way to give permissions based on either Org or just a subgroup.

Permissions are configured at the Session Group level. Without knowing your specific configuration, I think you can accomplish this by creating a new session group using the Server AND Organization Session filter, then assigning permissions for the single person only to the newly created Session Group.

So you're saying I'd need something like:

Servers - Austin
Servers - Dallas
Servers - Atlanta
Servers - Orlando

That kind of sucks. I'd prefer

Servers/
├── Austin
├── Dallas
├── Atlanta
└── Orlando

Keep in mind you can completely hide any of the groups you would like from the other groups. You may also want to create test accounts for each role so you can be sure your configuration has the desired outcome. I only have one account that can see everything in our instance (admin).

@chriscamp is exactly correct, thanks for posting that.

With that said, we are currently in the process of adding the ability to map permissions to subgroups. It's a complicated process and while I cannot guarantee exactly when, it's likely to be available within the next stable release (likely 7.0).
