I was wondering if anyone has made a resource for explaining to people completely unfamiliar or inexperienced with what remote access support and webinar software was and how its installed and started from their computer. The closest I can find to offer was to say what this simple connection process is, the outline is described in the following:

http://help.screenconnect.com/Guest_page_overview

It should have something much better and maintained to be current. I think there was an older version of this on the wiki was actually a bit better, but was not active anymore as a wiki page.

(By the way, I have given a user this link, and they still did not understand it.)

It might seem trivial, but it can easily make the difference in practical and commercial terms of gaining that client for me or not.

I think this resource might be too much detail:

https://www.screenconnec...ote-Support-How-It-Works

to provide to a end user. I think a series of 3 steps with simplistic images would be enough.

Has anyone either inside of or outside of ScreenConnect made something like this that could be referred to please?

We might think Screen Connect is great, but if the end user on the other end of the session cannot start it, we are back in square 1. We need to consider the lowest common denominator user: one who can only use a web browser to access a website, with no other significant computer skills.

For those in ScreenConnect, I might further suggest that aside from improving and updating this resource, you offer a free word template that we could modify for our own guides we provide to
our clients?

Thanks for your post. Our help page will allow you to put together your own manual for your customers: http://help.screenconnect.com. You can pick and choose the information you'd like them to have, customize it a bit, and publish it as a PDF. For first time users, I've found this KB to be very helpful: http://help.screenconnec...r_first_support_session. I hope this helps. I'll forward your suggestions to our Tech writing team.

I think there should be a separate webpage for section "5. Join your session" onwards with some additional screenshots where the steps are broken down into smaller steps to make it easier to follow, especially those under stress and not able to have as much thought. It might seem excessive, but it reduces the risk of becoming lost for the totally unfamilar user. Also, it might differentiate what to do when trying to run the link in different borsers, e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome.
