It was said in a different post that Android Unattended was going to be part of the next release.

Playing with the 9/28/16 release the only difference I could see was new button that put the session in the access category. Which was a nice improvement.

But it didn't autostart, was view only, and after backing out I had trouble reestablishing the connection.

So I'm just wondering what to expect in the January release.

In particular, I'd like to know whether I can get full remote access if I root the device. I'm able to do it on devices I'm deploying, and it'd be well worth it for full remote control.

Technically, it's relatively simple to allow unattended control of certain Android devices. The challenge that we've run into is the implementation of it; including the user interface, respecting the possibility of multiple unattended clients on a single device, and likely more that I'm missing. I don't have an ETA on when it'll be available, but my understanding is that it's in a very good position at the moment. We're just about ready to pass it through some rigorous QA.

Yes, but you would need to allow our app to have the following two permissions: READ_FRAME_BUFFER and INJECT_EVENTS

My understanding is that both permissions (definitely INJECT_EVENTS) require the app to be signed by the same signature with which the system is signed.

This is something we're eagerly expecting also, can you give us any new insight on a time frame?

I don't have an ETA, but it is still under active development. The whole feature was far more complicated/in-depth than I originally thought, thus its taking longer than initially planned.
