I recently upgraded to 5.4.9849.5781 from 5.4.9675.5750. I've been able to upgrade most of the clients through the "Reinstall" function. However, I've had a few clients where the Reinstall doesn't work. I've tried going in to manually uninstall the client then do a fresh installation but the uninstall is prompting me for a "setup.msi" file. Any ideas why it would be prompting for that file and/or where I would get it? I'm assuming it has something to do with the previous version of the client but since I've upgrade the server I don't have a previous version of the client around.

Is it looking for the setup.msi file in a network location? Usually when we see this kind of behavior it's due to one of two things:

A. The client was deployed via GPO
B. The remote machine's msiexec cache has messed up and it cannot find the cached installer.

Typically you can use a tool like MsFixIt to remove the old client and then install it manually.
