From 5.5 Beta - "made relay do application-level keep-alive/ping every 20 minutes in case TCP keep-alives are being eaten"

I noticed the above in the change-log for 5.5. Can the SC techs expand on what this does? Is this a potential solution for customers whos client randomly goes offline?
We have a whole subset of customers behind a state wide Education firewall that need their SC service restarted every 60 mins just to keep them online.

Yes, potentially. We were running into an issue where some networking devices were acking to the client as if they were the ScreenConnect server. This caused the server to think the client was offline but the client to believe it was online, since something was keeping the TCP connection alive. In general, something eating the TCP keep-alives shouldn't really happen, but we were seeing it enough to where we needed to implement a workaround to address it.

Just out of curiosity, what firewall solution/vendor/hardware is implemented?

Unfortunately I don't know, we don't have any access or visibility of the firewall or proxy servers.
