We want to be able to send email invites to our customers through screenconnect, not from an email client on local computers.

I've recently installed screenconnect 5.4.9849.5781 on our ubuntu server. Our email host is google apps. I've searched around and have been messing with the web.config for a few days now with no luck getting it working. I have changed the <add key="SmtpEnableSsl" value="true"> setting as well.

The settings below were taken from this thread: http://forum.screenconne...P--Fixed.aspx#post24712.

<mailSettings>
<smtp deliveryMethod="Network" from="user@gmail.com">
<network defaultCredentials="True" host="smtp.gmail.com" password="password" port="587" userName="user@gmail.com" targetName="" enableSsl="True">
</network>
<specifiedPickupDirectory pickupDirectoryLocation="">
</specifiedPickupDirectory>
</smtp>
</mailSettings>

When the above config is in my web.config file the server starts up properly, but email does not work [obviously]. When I make the changes to above config to include our actual email and password - screen connect will not start.

Any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Try this:

Code:
<mailSettings>
<smtp from="myname@gmail.com">
  <network host="smtp.gmail.com" port="587" userName="myname@gmail.com" password="mypassword" />
</smtp>
</mailSettings>

And make sure the SSL key is set to true:

Code:
<add key="SmtpEnableSsl" value="true" />
