If you're using a Linux server and you would like to setup your Hostgator account for the SMTP relay, the setup varies slightly compared to their documentation. The correct setup follows:

Code:
<mailSettings>
<smtp from="FULL_EMAIL_ADDRESS">
<network host="HOSTGATOR_HOST_URL" userName="FULL_EMAIL_ADDRESS" port="587" password="EMAIL_LOGIN_PASSWORD">
</network>
</smtp>
</mailSettings>

The main difference is to use 587 instead of 465.

Thanks. Does this work for either shared or dedicated plans?
