Hello Forum:

Generally our IT staff doesn't use ScreenConnect on public hot spots or unsecured WiFi, however I would like to harden our security by obtaining and putting in place an SSL Cert and using https for our screen connect server. I'm curious to see where other users are purchasing SSL certs for their servers. I know there are many SSL providers, some are much more expensive than others. I'm looking for something that is cheap, but that won't cause any problems. I would like to hear your opinions and possibly your SSL providers and rates. I'll be looking to purchase in the next week or so. Let me know what got! Thank You!

Hi mreigel45,

Some users on this forum including me are using Free SSL cert from http://www.startssl.com/

The interface is not so simple but it's free ...

You can read how to install that SSL on your server with this topic:

http://forum.screenconne...-to-HTTPS.aspx#post11906

Also, don't forget to open your ports into you firewall (443 and 80 if you will redirect)

Have a good SSL!

We always use rapidssl certs which cost about $12/year. Been using them for years with no issues. I personally buy them through theSSLstore.com

https://www.ssls.com/. Never have had an issue with them. For basic we normally go with Comodo Positive SSL $4.99/yr for 5 years or $8.95 for 1 year. RapidSSL from GeoTrust $9.95 1yr.

As per my colleagues’ suggestion I acquired my first certificate from https://www.ssl2buy.com that the process is very straightforward. They offers admirable price, and proficient service.
