We are current customers and have been using a local server for ScreenConnect. We installed the trial on a VPS (Linux install) server to test before making the move permanent. It worked last week but now getting an error when trying to connect a session. Error: public key mismatch. Any ideas?

When you moved the server did you also move the web.config from the local server? That file contains the key to match the client to the server.

If you have your old web.config, you need to take the line that says AsymmetricKey and move it over to replace the one in the new web.config. You can't recover the full key if you don't have the web.config.

I think it's not normal, because i lost my web.config just after running screenconnect's uninstaller. And now i can't to recover this file with no one recovering program. They cant see deleted files in Screen Connect folder. These programs can't see nothing.

How can i recover web.config file after running ScreenConnect's uninstaller?

Why don't you have thought through the recovery procedure in such situations?

This is a good time to remind everyone of the importance of backing up your ScreenConnect installation:

The sc windows uninstaller puts a web.config copy in a temp directory.
