Good day!

I have Labtech with Screenconnect installed on Debian Linux; I have the latest version installed as well as the latest version of java. I just get a black screen and I can see the mouse moving. However if I open a program on the client machine it shows up in screen connect, but just the program, not the menus or background for the OS. I also get this error when I send ctrl alt delete "Operation 'SystemKeyCodeMessage' not supported."

Any ideas?

What display server is running on the machine? Is it xorg or wayland perhaps?

Also, only the Java Host client supports the Control-Alt-Delete functionality (ie from a Java Host you can send the command to other Guests). The Java Guest client does not support receiving the CAD command. Differences between the clients can be found here.

Correct me if I'm wrong but GDM is the window manager, doesn't it have to use a windowing system like X11 or Wayland? Which of those two is installed/in use?

Ugh, sorry; I was doing a copy paste from the terminal. Yea, it's X11.

Hmm, we shouldn't have any issues with X11 (Wayland is another story).

What does the log look like? You can kickout the last 150 lines or so with:

tail -150 /var/log/screenconnect-xxx

Where the xxx is your server's public key thumbprint.
