Add Screenshot to General Tab

The "Add Screenshot to General Tab" extension has been published to the Extension Marketplace and requires Control version 6.4+.

The extension adds the screenshot preview to the Host page General tab.

The extension has a single setting, DisplayGeneralTabScreenshotPanelAboveDetails, which has value false by default. Setting DisplayGeneralTabScreenshotPanelAboveDetails to true positions the General tab screenshot preview above the machine details on the General tab.

Thanks for this extension, Ben. It is so much nicer having the screenshot back on the general tab.

I have a small issue which I'm hoping you can fix. The screenshot shown by this extension is full size and not scaled down to fit like the one on the start tab. See screenshots below.

Start tab: https://i.imgur.com/rLOQ5aG.png

General tab: https://i.imgur.com/nIR4kuZ.png

The screenshot added by this extension is full size (and has scrollbars) so I'm only seeing the top-left corner on the page.

I am running 6.4.15787.6556 so I don't know if this also happens in 6.5 as I haven't received that yet.

If it helps, I have the following set:

GuestScreenshotMaxPixelCount: 1000000
GuestScreenshotMaxScalePercent: 80

Is there any way to have the screenshot added by the extension to scale down automatically like the original one does?

Thanks

Thanks for the head's up.

I just published version 1.0.5 of the Add Screenshot to General Tab extension, which should resolve the issue you mentioned.

Cheers,
Ben

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a fast fix.

I have updated to 1.0.5 and can confirm the screenshot is now scaled to fit.

Thank you so much.

Hello,

Up front I will say I don't know if the latest update caused this or if it's the Add Screenshot to General Tab extension or both. However, I noticed that after installing the Add Screenshot extension, I would go to the General Tab and found that the computer would be continuously queued a command for information. All the computer information on the General Tab would flash, and you can see the connection show queued command each time. The timeline history will show each request for information. I had one machine with so much history that it kept crashing my browser.

I disabled then I uninstalled the extension. I restarted the services on the server. I tried the reinstall command on the client. The problem still persists.

Control server and client version: 6.6.17081.6648

Is there a config file somewhere that controls how often the General Information tab refreshes? I wonder if it's stuck on a constant refresh.

This is a known issue with 6.6 due to reenqueueing commands when a pane change is observed, though it bubbles a pane change automatically, triggering infinite commands.

Others are reporting a similar problem related to the ESET extension.

I cannot find this extension anywhere in the Extension Marketplace.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

Ta, Mark.

It's there, it's just not tagged under any of the categories. Go to "All" and look for the big red image with a stamp that reads "Partner Approved." This assumes that you're using an on-premise license or a paid hosted license, and not the free license that doesn't include extensions.
