Can someone please point me in the right direction to install the access remote control tool on Debian? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks!

Assuming you're talking about the Access client, you can find instructions for that process on our KB.

Specifically, there are steps for how to build the Access client installer here.

And steps on how to install it on a remote machine here.

No, I actually mean how do I manage a client PC through the session. When i open the Host site on the Debian workstation, and I try to open a client PC (Access Session) from the web portal, it goes through it's "Default" first, and I goto that list, and I dont see Debian/Linux listed. It prompts me to download/run the xxxxx.jnlp file, but I can't open it.

Thanks for your quick response!!

Ah, I see, thanks for clarifying. To join a session as a Host from a debian system you need both java and javaws (javawebstart) installed.

To invoke javaws directly and launch the jnlp file use something similar to:

Code:

javaws /path/to/ScreenConnect.ClientBootstrap.jnlp

If you're using openjdk then the webstart stuff is called IcedTea.

How can I have i default to open "javaws /path" each time I try to open a new session? I have very limited debian/linux experience. I'm trying to force myself to use it daily, but I usually get stuck a few times and then give up again.

To my knowledge you'll want to install the IcedTea openjdk protocol handler so that your browser will just automatically see the file and pass it off to the webstart stuff.
