Just as above, I cannot see the desktop at all, it is just a black screen, though the chat seems to work, and it is reported that the machine in connected to the screen connect server. I am using java 7 update 121 on the ubuntu machine, I also seem to have a cursor. I would post the output from /var/log/screenconnect but there is nothing in it.. Advice? Edit: SC is version 6.0.11622.6115 Edited by user Tuesday, March 21, 2017 2:44:17 PM(UTC)

It might sound like a silly question, but when you send a chat do you see anything pop up on the blank screen? Or does it stay completely blank the entire time?
If the Guest opens a window, does the Host see any change? Maybe just a split second of screen data over the black background? |

Hey Scott, yes I do get the message window when I try the chat. and the host and guest can both type in it. I am not sure if this is java related as I have Java 7 update 121 installed.

I have the exact same issue on Xubuntu 16.04LTS - after have the screenconnect guess running in background for a few hours, the desktop is blank and with mouse cursor only when I try to connect it.
On the other hand, the Xubuntu guess can't be seen (as offline) on the Admin page
The only thing can do is to force power off the Xubuntu...
