Is it possible to disable the expanded thumbnail view for a particular security group? I know you can disable it all together and I now how to make the image blurry but can you disable it for one group?

Thanks,

George Jackson

This is not a feature that is controlled by role based security. It is a global on or off and is configured in the web.config file. There is an enhancement request for this option, so I'll register your support for its inclusion into a future release.

+1 It means that you support that feature or addition. The more +1's hopefully the developers will take note and add the feature or change.

How do you make it blurry?

You can change the max pixel count with the On Premise version in the web.config file:

[code]<add key="GuestScreenshotMaxPixelCount" value="10000" />[code]

Is this key still valid in Screenconnect v6? The thumbnails seem very low resolution no matter what I set this to now.

This key is still valid in ScreenConnect 6.0. You may need to update the value of GuestScreenshotMaxScalePercent as well to achieve the desired effect.

Using the following settings with the Expand Thumbnail Preview Image extension, guest preview images are very sharp:

Code:
<add key="GuestScreenshotMaxScalePercent" value="100" />
<add key="GuestScreenshotMaxPixelCount" value="500000" />

Cheers, i'll give it a go. Just that I found I was having some annoying scrolling issues with both the preview and expanded image when I had the MaxScalePercent key set to non-default, post 6.0 upgrade.

I've had issues with this extension since upgrading to v6. I saw on another thread (http://forum.screenconnect.com/yaf_postst9829_Extension-Expand-Thumbnail-Preview-Image.aspx) that the extension had been upgraded, but when I look for it in the extensions browser I don't see it listed. I'm wondering if someone could tell me what the default settings are for

Code:
GuestScreenshotMaxScalePercent
GuestScreenshotMaxPixelCount

so I could reset them back to their defaults since I guess I can't use that extension anymore.

The default values are:

Code:

<add key="GuestScreenshotMaxScalePercent" value="80" />
<add key="GuestScreenshotMaxPixelCount" value="10000" />

You can also find this information on our KB, specifically here.

Also can you post a screenshot/provide more information about the issues you're having with the extension?

I mostly was trying to reset it, but I can't seem to see the extension as one available in the Extension Browser. I removed it from our install because I saw we had the older version, and figured that's why it wasn't working, but now without it installed, the computer images aren't scaling, so now I'm trying to fix that. Here's what it looks like as we have those two values set now -

So I was finally able to circle around back to this, sorry for the delay.

The issue there is that increasing the pixel count causes the image to be larger and the Host page doesn't handle/address this change very well. I'm going to register it as a defect.

If it helps, the default values for those two settings follow:
Code:

  <add key="GuestScreenshotMaxScalePercent" value="20" />
  <add key="GuestScreenshotMaxPixelCount" value="30000" />
