As part of the trial, we have tested ScreenConnect with the client we most expected to have a problem with, and unfortunately we were right. They can access our ScreenConnect website, but when they try and connect, downloading the exe says 'proxy authentication required'. . Does it just follow the IE proxy configuration?

We do use the proxy settings as specified in the Control Panel\Network and Internet\Internet Options. If your user's proxy does require authentication, it’s possible that we can get by that by adding a ProxyUri setting to the ScreenConnect app.config as shown below.

Here's a bit more about the ScreenConnect app.config:
http://help.screenconnec...ting_the_app.config_file
http://help.screenconnec...t_of_app.config_settings

Code:

<setting name="ProxyUri" serializeAs="String">
<value>http://UserName:Password@192.162.128.1:3178/</value>
</setting>

Is this the same in the latest releases? We are on 4.1 and on our unattended clients the ScreenConnect install folder doesn't have any subfolders or app.config file. We have a user.config file that has ProxyUri though, is this what we need to change now?

Does it make any difference running the service under another account that has proxy permissions?

Steve, you can add the app.config like shown here: http://help.screenconnec...ting_the_app.config_file
